Our Commitment

HOApro.us is committed to ensuring that our website and document generation platform are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We believe that HOA governance tools should be usable by every board member, property manager, and homeowner — regardless of ability or the assistive technology they rely on.

We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our accessibility standard. This means we aim to make our content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for the widest possible range of users.

Standards We Target

Our accessibility efforts are guided by the following principles from WCAG 2.1 AA:

Perceivable

All non-text content (icons, images) includes meaningful alt text. Color is never used as the sole means of conveying information. Text maintains sufficient contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text) against background colors.

Operable

All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard navigation. We provide visible focus indicators on all focusable elements. No content flashes more than 3 times per second. Skip navigation links allow keyboard users to bypass repeated header content.

Understandable

Form fields include clear labels and error messages. Pages have descriptive titles. The language of each page is programmatically specified. We avoid jargon where plain language alternatives exist.

Robust

Our HTML is semantically structured to support compatibility with current and future assistive technologies, including screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) and voice control software.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, we are aware of the following current limitations:

  • Generated PDF documents: PDF files generated by HOApro.us may not be fully accessible to screen readers in all cases. We are working to improve PDF tagging and heading structure in generated documents.
  • Complex form tables: Some multi-column form layouts on document builder pages may present navigation challenges for screen reader users. We are refactoring these to use more accessible list-based layouts.
  • Third-party components: Some interactive UI components sourced from third-party libraries may not yet meet full WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We review and replace inaccessible components as they are identified.

We conduct periodic accessibility audits and address identified issues in our regular development cycle.
